'Advantage Program' launch

The 'Advantage Program' is designed to create a cohesive community, not only within your own project, but much wider among the many with DNA Heritage that are in the same position as you - untangling your family tree.

The incentive for the Advantage Program is that members can have the full, 43-marker, duplicate-tested Y-chromosome STR tests at just $149. In bringing the prices so low, we have put in place certain provisos.
(We could of course just have lowered the prices like the competition but the aim is to create a strong community which, we think, is better all round).

First step:
If you haven't done so already, you need to enrol by checking the enrolment box in your Management Pages.


Provisos:
The current proviso is:
Your Project needs to have one Project Admin and a minimum of two co-Admins.

The reason behind this is that three heads are better than one, people go on holiday from time to time and also teams generally get more done. All good reasons for sharing the load of a project. We've recently made this MUCH easier. People can now join a project even if they are NOT taking a DNA test.

If your aunt is a genius at genealogy but lacks the necessary Y-chromosome, have her join. If your brother is a project manager extraordinaire when he's not doing his motivational speaking, have him sign up too!

To promote someone to co-Admin, just select their name from the member list and edit their details. Only Project Admins can do this. (and don't forget you can add their email addresses to receive notification emails also - see the Notifications link in your Management Pages)

Provisos which will change with time. They will be designed to aid you in your project, increase the usefulness of the website and build upon collaborative effort. We're very lucky to have an above-average intelligence customer base, and we want to help them work together!


Advantage Program badge:
To identify if your Project is enrolled onto the Advantage Program, we shall place a red 'AP' badge (see above) on both the Project Details page and the Join Page, with guidance about how much the test will be and when we shall invoice.


Ordering process:
As well as the price, another immediate change is the ordering and invoicing process for orders within the program. Kits are usually sent out for free and of course some aren't returned. To lower our burden of cost, we'll issue the invoice which will need to be settled BEFORE the kit is mailed out.

The process works a little like this:

• the order comes in
• we check that the project has met the current provisos
• invoice is sent out and settled
• kit goes out in the mail

As soon as the kit is mailed back to us, we'll go right ahead and start testing!


What if...

Sample kits have been mailed out already?:
If Members are in possession of a sample kit (or the sample kit has recently been mailed out), we shall invoice for $149 now provided that the project meets the current provisos.

A Member has a current unpaid invoice?:
If we have invoiced for $189 and it hasn't been paid yet, we'll update the invoice to $149 now provided that the project meets the current provisos, and let the Member know.
