Ireland has one of the largest surviving bodies of early genealogical records. Niall Noigiallach was a famous High King of Ireland. He had the name "Niall of the Nine Hostages" for his penchant of kidnapping his rivals. It's even suggested that a young St. Patrick was taken hostage by Niall.

He had many sons and the dynasty ruled over much of Ireland around the 5th century. They were all quite a hit with the ladies and today an estimated 3 million Irish men can trace their Y-chromosomes straight back to Niall. In some parts of Ireland, it's as high as 1 in 6 men. We have what is considered to be his DNA signature as a comparison. 15 sweepstake winners will get a free DNA test.

All other entrants: Take a test with us - if you match Niall (and with 3 million descendants - up to 1 in 6 in some parts of Ireland - there's a fair chance you will) we'll refund you 100%.

Even if you don't match, we'll tell you about your deeper ancestral origins. You'll also have a full set of results that are like a pot of gold for anyone researching your family tree as they can be compared with possible distant cousins.
