Thousands of our customers opted for our 23-marker Surname DNA test in a quest to help them learn more about their family connections. We're upgrading them for free.
Thousands of our customers opted for our 23-marker Surname DNA test in a quest to help them learn more about their family connections. At DNA Heritage, we always test the full 43 markers in duplicate, each and every time. This means that we have tens of thousands of unclaimed data points, just sat in the database twiddling their thumbs. We're of the opinion that the full set of results are vastly more useful to you and your family than to us.
To this end, we shall begin releasing those extra markers from this week. Not all markers for each person, but about 75%. You can of course choose to upgrade further and add the remaining markers via your Personal Page. In doing so you will have a 100% compatible set of markers to share with others at DNA Heritage, past Relative Genetics customers, Ancestry and the SMGF database, and a larger data set to compare with FTDNA customers.
Who is eligible? Everyone who has received 23- to 42-marker results before 1st July 2009.
Don't forget that you can now choose to easily share your results with other Members of your Surname Project (if you are a Member), and also upload to Ybase.org using the easy-upload button - both from within your Personal Page.
We're working through the list alphabetically but will email or phone you personally in the days to come if we have upgraded you.
