Dear All,

We’ve done it again.

The first to bring you a searchable public Y-chromosome database, the first to bring you the most comprehensive genealogical Y-chromosome test and now at DNA Heritage we’re delighted to announce the launch of our brand new, all-encompassing, Y-chromosome SNP testing capability – a major leap forward in biogeographical testing.

Up until now we have been able to make predictions of haplogroup assignments based upon your Y-chromosome STR results (your haplotype). We’re now able to offer a far more detailed haplogroup assignment based upon the most comprehensive Y-SNP test available.

So if your Y-chromosome is in I1b2 found almost exclusively in Sardinia, we can now determine this. If it is in J2f1 found rarely in the Balkans and Pakistan, or in E3b3; common in Israel down to the Horn of Africa and along the south of the Mediterranean, we can find this out for you.

Native American? African? Inuit, Ainu or Icelandic? Every population can now place themselves within the Y-Chromosome Tree through our biogeographical DNA test.

An all this for just $149.

We’ve created an interactive map showing where the major haplogroups are found at http://www.dnaheritage.com/ysnptree.asp. From there you can also see the Tree in brief covering all 18 major Haplogroups but then progress to see all of the sub-haplogroups for each and every haplogroup.

The SNP markers that we test for are seen shaded and the tree is based upon the YCC 2003 Tree. A complete list of SNP markers (too long for this email) can be seen at http://www.dnaheritage.com/ysnpmarkers.asp

This test is very different from others offered elsewhere as we begin testing at the very root of the Y-Chromosome Tree and genetically trace the route of your DNA down to sub-haplogroup level, meaning that we don’t need to know your haplotype first.

There is additional information at http://www.dnaheritage.com/ysnp.asp and for questions that you may have you can go to http://www.dnaheritage.com/faqs.asp#30

To order this incredible test, log in to your Personal Page at Oracle and just look for the button that says ‘Order SNP test’.

If you have forgotten your Oracle access codes, you can quickly retrieve them at http://www.dnaheritage.com/oracle/password.asp

When you have your results, don’t forget to update your Ybase record too (at http://www.ybase.org). The resolution in this new test is more than most research labs can achieve and coupled with your Y-STR haplotypes makes for very detailed information that is freely available to anyone, customers and researchers alike allowing knowledge about human migrations to progress further still.

This new test is initially just for our past and current customers. We shall be rolling out this new test to the general public shortly complete with full reports, although we shall of course provide you with these full reports anyway as soon as they are ready. We just wanted to provide our own customers with advance testing at a great price.
