Our surname of interest is Britton (including Brittain, Britten, Bretton, etc. and all variant forms). We are looking for male participants with the name Britton who wish to supplement traditional genealogical research with DNA testing.
This study uses a test that examines a portion of DNA on the Y chromosome, which is unique to males and follows the paternal line, but does not provide any medically-sensitive information. Females therefore cannot contribute directly, but may find a male relative (father, brother, cousin, etc) to be tested as a representative of their line.
Participants from the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, etc. are all welcome.
SPECIAL OFFER: Free test to any Britton male who matches my family and can provide proof of his English ancestry back to the 17th century which enables me to discover the ancestry of John Britton bc 1672/3, either in England or Virginia, and living in Henrico Co., VA by 1684.

This Surname Project is enrolled upon the 'Advantage Program'. This entitles each Member to purchase a full, 43-marker test for just $149, provided that the program provisos have been met.
Under this program, when an order is placed, a check is made to ensure that the Project has met the provisos and if so, an invoice for the test emailed out to both the Member and Project Admin.
Once the invoice has been settled, then the sample kit will be mailed out. |
